Our People

Phil Edgell, Vice President of Service Delivery

Long View Since: June, 2002
Branch:

What is your most memorable Long View moment?

There are many over the last 10 years, but one that really stands out for me was winning a deal to manage the implementation and ongoing operations of a fully redundant phone network for a major crown corporation in British Columbia. It was memorable because (at the time) we were a very small branch struggling to make our mark and we managed to beat out the largest market competitors through Long View’s commitment to innovation and ability to demonstrate our ability to deliver.

This was a momentous win for our branch. Not only did it bring us together as a team, but we received significant market recognition of it. I am proud to say we are still successfully operating that environment today.

What have you been the most proud of while working for Long View?

As a Long View leader I am most proud of seeing people grow in their current roles and transition/progress into new roles within Long View. I have participated in many CLPs (Career Life Plans) where an employee and I have written down their hopes and dreams, only to find ourselves celebrating the success of achieving these dreams in the coming months/years.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I am a sports fanatic! Watching, coaching and most importantly playing. Tops on the list would be skiing, tennis, golf and soccer.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would finish the reno’s on my house in North Vancouver! Otherwise I would pursue leadership mastery and be involved in it both from a teaching and learning perspective.

What’s your dream vacation destination?

I have two: kite surfing in Maui for a month or a week of heli-skiing in the Canadian Rockies with my wife – both would feed my soul.
